What We
Ought to Be

From the mind of an emerging local playwright comes a suite of deeply flawed characters all reeling in the aftermath of an aristocrat’s death. Existing somewhere between a whodunnit and gothic tales of old, this Toowoomba based debut of What We Ought to Be is guaranteed to surprise in the grimmest way possible.

#Desire, delusion, and a tiny bit of axe murder

This original play asks one question: “What are you willing to do to get what you deserve?”

This original neo-gothic work is brought to Toowoomba with the help of the Toowoomba Regional Council, Regional Arts Fund, and The Empire Theatre’s Homegrown Program.
