Supported by People First Bank, drift into outer space as hundreds of students across the region have reached for the stars by contributing to this intergalactic community art istallation transforming the Church Theatre into another world.
Created by local Kindy to Grade 6 students, this inspiring exhibition features a galaxy of handcrafted stars, planets, moons, satellites, rocket ships and mysterious lifeforms. Each artwork showcases the creativity of young makers, with many pieces crafted from recycled and repurposed materials.
Suspended throughout the theatre, these unique creations come together to form an immersive cosmic world that celebrates imagination, collaboration and sustainability.
Free to view during THRIVE Festival, come explore the galaxy and see where young imaginations can take you.

ABOUT
Be Part of the THRIVE Festival by contributing to our combined schools THRIVING GALAXY art installation. We need your help to create a THRIVING GALAXY of stars, planets, moons, satellites, rocket ships and lifeforms in The Empire Church Theatre and Armitage Centre foyers. Each school/class can choose their own crafting method and we encourage schools to use recycled/repurposed materials and get creative!
HOW TO ENTER
Open to class groups from Kindy to Grade 6. Each registered class will get an Information and Inspiration pack including crafty ideas, fun space facts and installation guidelines. Hanging mechanism will be provided by The Empire. Crafting materials are to be provided or collected by the school/class group.

Deliver your completed galaxy to The Empire by 3pm, Tuesday 15 September 2026.

Winner Receives
- Two tickets per student to Into Space.
- Certificate and photo presentation at THRIVE Festival in The Empire Church Theatre at 12pm, Friday 25 September 2026.
