Showcasing Australia’s finest magicians and illusionists in an up-close and intimate setting, Theatre of Magic is an exclusive theatrical experience of captivating illusion, comedy and close-up conjuring, providing a unique and spell bounding experience to each individual audience.

The six-month encore includes monthly performances at The Empire along with four additional performances fittingly titled Theatre of Magic: The Secret Garden Show, throughout the iconic Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers from September 13 to October 4.

Theatre of Magic will also offer magic workshops for young aspiring illusionists as part of Thrive Festival; The Empire’s annual children’s festival held during the September school holidays.

The Empire General Manager, Giuliana Bonel expressed her excitement with the audience response to Theatre of Magic at The Empire.

“The reaction from our audiences has been nothing short of phenomenal,” Ms Bonel said.

“We have experienced month after month of sold-out performances, waitlists and incredible feedback after each show – it’s clear Toowoomba has fallen under Theatre of Magic’s spell,” she said.

“It’s been a joy to be able to provide such a one-of-a-kind theatre experience to our community for the past six months, and we are thrilled to take this to a new level with additional weekly shows throughout September and early October and continue sharing the magic for the rest of 2025.”

Theatre of Magic creator and acclaimed comedy magician, Christopher Wayne was looking forward to welcoming Toowoomba audiences back for more.

“There is nothing else like this in the Darling Downs, bringing the world’s best magicians into an intimate space for a close-up show. We are so happy that Toowoomba loves magic as much as we do,” said Mr Wayne.

Audience interaction makes every show different from the last, and moving into the second half of 2025 we are bringing new magicians, new tricks and brand-new shows up the range.

Theatre of Magic is recommended for ages 10+. Tickets to the Theatre of Magic series from July are on sale from June 11, 9am.
