The Best of the Beggars

The Beggars are an old-school folk and country trio from South Australia, all acoustic and full of rich vocal harmony. They have recorded seven albums, toured Europe four times and played numerous themed concerts in Australia, each one with its own stand out moments. In celebration of their 15 year career they revisit some of the highlights: the best of Australian songs, folk songs and novelty songs; the best of harmony bands like The Seekers and Peter Paul and Mary; the best of Australian troubadours like Slim Dusty; the best of The Beggars originals, plus their best jokes and comedy routines. It’s simply...  a banquet - The Beggars best!

Stuart Day (vocals, guitar, mandolin, fiddle, banjo), Renee Donaghey (vocals, guitar, ukulele) and Quinton Dunne (vocals, double bass) formed the Beggars in 2006 with the aim of recording their own songs. Songs from their first two albums caught the ears of European DJs and put The Beggars on the folk and country radio charts across the E.U., with The Banjo Song going to the number one spot. Their third album Australian Songbook launched them on the Australian concert circuit where they continue to play to packed houses everywhere.
