As part of this year’s Brisbane Festival, experience Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra as they bring to life the epic poem of the same name in The Conference of the Birds.
Written by twelfth century Persian mystic and poet, Attar of Nishapur, this allegorical story of love, faith, and humanity’s search for courage is told through an incredible musical setting by Lembit Beecher. Augmented by sumptuous illustrations from The New York Times’ multi award-winning illustrator and author, Peter Sis, and with words spoken by Matilda award-winning actor Liz Buchanan, this will be a poignant and thought-provoking performance.
Complemented by Mendelssohn’s Sinfonia in B Minor and Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, featuring Artistic Director Brendan Joyce, this will be another unmissable chamber music concert from the twice-Helpmann nominated ensemble.
