The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, led by charismatic Artistic Director Paul Dyer, celebrates the music of the sixteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth centuries with excellence, flair and joy.
With leading specialists in historically informed performance practice from all over Australia, the Brandenburg performs using original edition scores and instruments of the period. In doing so, breathing fresh life and vitality into baroque and classical masterpieces – as though the music has sprung from the composer’s pen.
The Orchestra’s name pays tribute to the Brandenburg Concertos of J.S. Bach, whose musical genius was central to the Baroque era. Celebrating their 30th anniversary in 2019, the Brandenburg continues to deliver exhilarating performances.
The Brandenburg’s Principal Baroque Flute Melissa Farrow, in collaboration with Artistic Director Paul Dyer has carefully curated a program that will take you on a musical journey through the diverse French and English musical landscapes of the late seventeenth to early eighteenth-centuries.
Following their very popular tour in October 2019, the Brandenburg Ensemble will return in a different configuration showcasing the Baroque Oboe, flute, recorder, viola de gamba, theorbo and guitar alongside the Baroque violin and viola. The Ensemble will deliver an inspiring program of chamber music from the French and English Baroque on this wonderful combination of unique period instruments.
