Inspired by local experiences, Small Town Stuff fuses circus and dance, mixed with the bizarre, the hilarious and the surprising.
It seeks the edges and strengths of living regionally; its limits and expanses, impacts and endurance, diversity and inclusion, determination and triumphs.
Artists Jacob Watton, Phoebe Armstrong, Chris Braithwaithe, Teisha Hinsch and Sarah McCarthy share skills across ballet, contemporary dance, comedy, the absurd, circus aerials and acrobatics. Together they form the Pinnacle Collective, a motley troop of artists, each with ties to the Darling Downs.
Small Town Stuff is a collaboration with international circus/dance director and creator Chelsea McGuffin (Company 2, Circa).
Small Town Stuff was developed with support from the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, Dance Central, Visual Focus and USQ Artsworx through the Higher Ground project. Curious Arts Festival presents the Pinnacle Collective’s world premiere work with support from the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland and Toowoomba Regional Council.
