Camerata welcomes Sara Macliver, one of Australia’s most treasured sopranos.
After a dreamy entrée from Grainger, Sara’s artistry will be on display in Schumann’s intimate, A Woman’s Love and Life depicting the emotional stages of a 19th century woman’s life, attributed to the story of his own wife Clara whom he had just married. Britten’s brilliant and inspired set of character pieces follows, and ranges from the most tender to laugh-out-loud moments with virtuosity and passion that still challenge the finest chamber orchestras of today.
At the concert, Camerata reveal a mystery guest before concluding the evening with Sara in Vivaldi’s tempestuous In furore that is sure to bring the concert to an absolutely thrilling conclusion.
