Kicking off the Empire Theatre’s new Beauaraba Living Daytime Series on Sunday, February 12 is musical play Always… Patsy Cline.
Always… Patsy Cline is more than a tribute to the legendary country singer, with the production based on the true story about Cline’s endearing friendship with Houston fan and pen pal, Louise Seger.
Complete with country humour, true emotion and even some audience participation, Always… Patsy Cline includes 27 of Patsy’s most unforgettable hits including Crazy, I Fall to Pieces, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight.
The musical offers existing Cline fans a chance to reminisce while giving new fans and a whole new generation of country music lovers an idea of what seeing her was like and what she meant to her original fans.
This production, directed by AFI award winning Denny Lawrence stars award winning Australian country music singing sensation Courtney Conway as Patsy Cline and popular stage star Mandi Lodge (Sweeney Todd, Menopause the Musical), as Louise Seger.
Formerly known as Morning Melodies, the new Daytime Series will bring a mixture of Thursday morning and Sunday afternoon performances to the theatre.
Continuing in April with The Beggars Sing, the Daytime Series will see the return of Back to the Tivoli and crowd favourite, Broadway Favourites and the addition of Queensland Pops Orchestra as part of the Sunday afternoon line-up.
