After the success of Semester One, Empire Youth Arts drama workshops are back again for Term Three.
Classes begin on Wednesday, July 22 with four levels available to students, including Drama Starter for ages 7-9, Drama One for ages 10-12, Drama Two for ages 13-15 & Drama Plus for those 16 and above.
Empire Youth Arts Facilitator Ari Palani said the addition of the Drama Starter option for younger students had been a huge success.
“For the past six months we have seen some great results from our youngest class participants in their communication, social diplomacy and abstract problem solving.
“By engaging their imaginations in narrative and physical play as a group, a lot of learning happens with a lot of laughter.”
Mr Palani said the workshops provide an excellent opportunity for artists across all classes to develop their skills.
“Our younger classes have recently been working with some really high level physical work and their focus and dedication to these tasks have been amazing to watch,” he said.
“Drama Two will be building on their previous work on narrative construction and will hone these skills through a term of improvisation.
“Drama Plus will begin their work on auditions and keep refining their acting skills and our IMPACT Ensemble is busily working on their adaptation of Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus.”
Term Three workshops will run for eight weeks.
