Live Music Back at the Empire Theatre

Live music is officially back at the Empire Theatre with a host of well-known performers announcing upcoming performances this week.

Returning to the Empire Theatre six years after his last Toowoomba appearance, Australia’s highest selling independent artist, John Butler will take to the stage for a solo one-off performance, on Saturday March 13.

This performance is part of a limited number of special, intimate shows taking place around the country as Butler returns to the live circuit after a year away from life on the road and will feature stories from the road and songs from his extensive catalogue.

Joining John Butler on the Empire Theatres calendar is legendary group, Human Nature, who are returning to their roots, bringing 30 years of performances together for a never before seen intimate concert on Tuesday May 4.

Human Nature will bring their best original hits and Motown classics performed stripped back, with vocals upfront in acoustic mode, in a unique evening with four of the entertainment industry’s most popular stars.

Empire Theatres General Manager, Kerry Saul said he was thrilled to see such high-quality live music acts back on the Empire stage as the live performance industry continues to feel the impact of the pandemic.

“We have been very fortunate since the temporary closure of the theatre a year ago, returning to the stage with our Empire Strikes Back series in July 2020 which featured several local bands,” he said.

“We have now progressed to a point where we are welcoming back some of the best musicians the country can offer.”

Tickets to An Evening with John Butler are available now and Human Nature is on sale from Thursday March 4 at 10am.
