The Sydney Writers’ Festival Live and Local program is returning to the Empire Theatre on Friday 4th May to Sunday 6th May.
As part of the free event, headline events from Sydney Writers’ Festival will be live streamed to the Empire Theatre’s Supper Room from 10am to 5:30pm (May 4 – May 6). While watching the talks, the audience will be able to actively engage with the Festival by submitting questions to on stage writers through Twitter and SMS.
Authors featured include bestselling writer Jane Harper (The Dry and Force of Nature), Reuters, BBC and Al Jazeera foreign correspondent Peter Greste (First Casualty) and Jeremy Heimans, co-founder of GetUp! (New Power: How Power Works in ourHyperconnected World).
Also featured are authors and broadcasters Gareth Evans, Julia Zemiro, Robert E Kelly, Sarah Furguson, and Emily Wilson and Annabel Crabb.

Social distancing measures have been put in place across the venue including queue controls. All patrons are asked to maintain the adequate distance from other guests outside their group.
Seats have been allocated to each booking group allowing adequate social distancing between each group. It is important you sit in your allocated seat.

Contactless payment is the preferred method of payment in both the Ticket Office and Bar Areas
All patrons are required to provide name, address, phone and email before each performance.
