As audition time approaches for tertiary performance courses, it’s time to get yourself ready to put your best foot forward. Join Youth Arts facilitator and professional actor Marcus Oborn, for a two day audition preparation workshop intensive. These workshops will cover everything you need to know about auditioning, including preparing your monologues, an introduction to acting technique, vocal and physical preparations for your audition day, professional conduct and presentation at your audition, CV presentation and what to do when you get a call-back. Participants will also be provided with audition dates and information for some of the leading actor training programs in Australia.
Participants will be required to have two audition monologues of their own choice, with one classic (Shakespearean) and one contemporary text. Monologues from books, TV or film scripts will not be suitable. Places are limited, so bookings are essential. Workshops take place over two days: Friday 24 August, 6:00pm – 9:00pm and Saturday 25 August, 12:30pm – 6:00pm.
